About Rebecca L. Lucore

Founder and President

Rebecca L. Lucore is a purpose-driven leader who founded RLucore Consulting in May 2024 after nearly three decades of experience in designing, implementing, and leading social impact, philanthropic, and sustainability initiatives that align corporate objectives with community needs. She’s a seasoned leader who bridges the corporate and NGO sectors, leveraging a deep understanding of the power of public-private partnerships to amplify social, philanthropic, and sustainability outcomes.

Rebecca is passionate about empowering people by fostering a sense of purpose, driving employee engagement, and enhancing talent retention—while advancing shared value that catalyzes meaningful, long-term community transformation. She’s a strategic communicator and expert storyteller, adept at championing the three pillars of sustainability—social, economic, and environmental equity—through collaboration and alliance-building.

She has worked in various capacities over the years, including – strategic communications; philanthropy leadership; sustainability; corporate social responsibility; employee engagement; diversity, equity and inclusion; executive support; nonprofit service; STEM and workforce development; and community programs/events.

Rebecca is a sought-after speaker who has addressed U.S. and global audiences at numerous platforms, including Fast Company Innovation Festival; the U.S. Chamber Foundation; Social Innovation Forum; CGI America; National Governor’s Association; UN Global Compact; GreenBiz; League of Cities; Conference Board; and NBC’s Education Nation, to name a few.

A passionate writer, Rebecca is a storyteller, connector of people, and a foodie with a love for plant-based cooking. She’s a former contributor to Huffington Post and Medium, and the creator and visionary behind Equal Portion, a blog dedicated to sharing food stories that blend cooking, community, and social impact.

Rebecca has served on numerous nonprofit and university boards, both local and national, and resides in Pittsburgh with her husband and three boys.

Highlights

Chief Architect of a groundbreaking corporate flagship CSR program that pioneered advocacy for science literacy and education reform. The initiative featured hands-on science programs for students, robust employee engagement, and a public awareness campaign that garnered two Presidential Awards—the President’s Service Award from President William J. Clinton and the Ron Brown Award from President George W. Bush—as well as the National Science Board’s prestigious National Public Service Award.

Pioneered Strategic Partnerships between the corporate sector and global organizations, securing collaborations with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the National Governor’s Association (NGA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the United Nations Global Compact, among other influential entities.

Key Leader, playing a pivotal role in Pittsburgh being named the North American Host City for World Environment Day by the United Nations Environment Programme in 2010 and hosting the One Young World Summit in 2012.

Visionary and Catalyst behind the creation of Covestro LLC’s THINC30 Summit, an event designed to localize the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). This summit aimed to accelerate partnerships that drive sustainable business development and social innovation around the 17 UNSDGs, while demonstrating how businesses and individuals can fulfill these goals by embracing purpose-driven action.

Advocate for Purpose-Driven Employee Engagement and a leading voice in Corporate America for transforming employee volunteerism. Spearheaded the shift from traditional corporate volunteering to the next-generation model of Skills-Based Volunteerism, empowering employees to contribute their professional expertise to social causes. Played a key role in the founding of the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management and the Covestro Center for Community Engagementat Robert Morris University.

For decades, I have immersed myself in purposeful work that not only meets organizational goals and engages employees, but results in impactful partnerships improving those organizations and the communities around them.
